Seacombe 그로 브는 관련 노이즈가있는 트래픽의 이 프로젝트에 대해 siting 응답은 건물보다는 지속적인 녹색 야외 공간 주위에 있지만, 둘 다 앞 또는 뒤로 정원을 가지고하는 것이었다. 이 공간은 시각 및 물리적 천장 유리 바닥을 통해 지속적인 객실을 살고있는 모든 하위 수준에서 액세스할 수 있습니다. 층 전체가 개인과 유용성을 될 수있는 전체 영역 (제외 보행자 및 자동차의 진입 점) 활성화, 지속적인 높은 울타리로 포함된 보호 안뜰 정원 내에 있습니다.

지역 생활 층에 별개의 두 영역으로 구분됩니다 - 밤 / 겨울 지역은 동쪽과 남쪽 얼굴 동안 북쪽과 서쪽에 직면 일 / 여름 영역은, 수영장, 정원 및 커버 야외 식사 공간으로 통합되었습니다. 이들 영역 사이의 분리는 2 수준의 무효와 계단의 위치에 의해 이루어집니다. 수직 운동과 계획에 효과적인 조각이 요소는 주거 입국까지 공개되지 않습니다. 이 요소는 마스터 침실과 어린이의 침실과 세탁 시설 사이의 상위 수준에서 분리를 제공합니다.

상위 수준 아래에서 밖으로 대형 프로젝트를 목격 잇몸 pergolas를 사용할 수 야외 영역을 강화합니다. 검은 그슬린 목재의 이러한 pergolas은 지붕을 실행할 수 벽, 유리가도 부동 bluestone 양식 위에 접지 제공합니다.

핵심 지속 가능한 개념으로 밑바닥부터 시작, 프로젝트에 통합되어 완벽하게 제기 목재 바닥 슬래브와 절연. 나머지는 건물에서 공기 누출을 최소화하기 위해 고정하는 동안 이중 유리 층 바닥은 십자가에 대해 충분한 환기 구멍이 있습니다. 처마 대신, pergolas은 층에 유리가 직면하고있는 서쪽으로 그늘을 제공하는 반면 1 층 fenestration이 중 1.5m 최소로 외관부터 다시 설정 또는 직접 복사열 항목을 방지하기 위해 외부 목재 스크린에 의해 보호됩니다.

Seacombe Grove is a family home on a corner block, abutting five lanes of traffic with the associated noise. As such the exposed corner site required a protective building to shelter the occupants.

The siting response for this project was to have neither a front or back garden, but rather a continuous green outdoor space around the building. This space is visually and physically accessible from all lower level living rooms through continuous floor to ceiling glass. The whole of the ground floor is within a protected courtyard garden, contained by a continuous high fence, enabling the entire area (excepting pedestrian and car entry points) to be private and usable.

The ground floor living areas are separated into two distinct zones – day / summer areas facing north and west are integrated with the pool, garden and covered outdoor eating areas, while the night / winter areas face east and south. Separation between these zones is achieved by the placement of a two level void and stair. This element of vertical movement and effective slice in the plan is not revealed until entry into the dwelling. This element provides separation at the upper level between master bedroom and the children’s bedroom and laundry facilities.

Large spotted gum pergolas that project out from under the upper level enhance usable outdoor areas. These pergolas of black charred timber have glazed roofs and operable walls, and also serve to ground the floating bluestone form above.

With the ground floor having continuous glazing, the upper level is contrasted with expressive stone walls with deep apertures that protect the occupant from the nearby major road. These apertures and associated upper level courtyards provide internal privacy to the dwelling.

Core sustainable concepts are integral to the project, starting from the ground up with a fully insulated slab with raised timber flooring. The double glazed ground floor has sufficient openings for cross ventilation while the remainder are fixed to minimize air leakage from the building. In lieu of eaves, the pergolas provide shade to the west facing glass on the ground floor, whilst first floor fenestration is either set back from the façade by a minimum of 1.5m or protected by external timber screens to prevent direct radiant heat entry.

The selection of materials consciously addressed their ability to span the life of the building – natural and aged materials such as bluestone temper the “newness” of the project, and will temper its age in the future. The bluestone cladding is cut in 4 differing widths and a random stacked pattern is utilized to accentuate the horizontality of the building, while the black charred timber screens and fences contrast the stone in their vertical arrangement. The bluestone is employed as an antidote to the prevalence of acrylic render and its flat plasticity and immediacy. While being a material that is quarried, cut and textured and thus rich, it is also a material that is beautiful in its ubiquitous nature in Melbourne – just look under your feet.
